The Spindletop Youth Soccer Association Rules, Policies, and Procedures have been updated as of January 8, 2018. You may obtain a copy of this document below:
The main changes to the prior set of rules are:
- SYSA may include teams from non-SYSA clubs in our league competitions provided those teams are registered under another US Youth Soccer member association.
- SYSA now has specific, objective criteria to follow when determining whether a team will be required to play at a higher competitive level than the one for which they initially registered.
- The preseason timeline and procedures for bracketing and scheduling have been updated and clarified.
- The conditions and procedures for including the results of league exhibition matches in the final standings (in place of unplayed matches) have been clarified.
- SYSA has added the option to use the virtual (online) GotSoccer roster in lieu of physical player ID cards for pre-game check-in provided certain conditions have been met.
- SYSA has re-affirmed that U15 and older D3 (rec) teams will play using a small-sided (7v7) format going forward. Note that U15 and older D2 (select) teams will continue to play full-sided (11v11) games.
- The rules now contain modified provisions for coed matches at the U15 and older age groups.
- The requirements for non-competitive matches have been changed. These games will no longer be truncated, but will now require the dominant team to remove one or more players for as long as the game remains non-competitive.
